CORAL GABLES, Fla. --- No. 12 North Carolina and No. 14 Miami were locked in a 2-2 tie Sunday before inclement weather forced the match at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center to be halted. No decision has been made on scheduling the remainder of match.
UNC swept the doubles point, with No. 10 Sanaz Marand and Sophie Grabinski taking an 8-4 win at No. 1 over No. 19 Laura Vallverdu and Romy Farah. The Tar Heels captured a pair of 9-7 decisions at the other two positions, as Austin Smith and Katrina Tsang won at No. 2 and Laura Reichert and Alexandra Jurewitz at No. 3.
Miami won the first two singles matches to finish, as No. 104 Bianca Eichkorn was victorious at No. 4 and Caren Seenauth triumphed at No. 5. Meg Fanjoy evened the score at 2-2 with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Claudia Wasilewski at No. 6.
With the top three positions still up for grabs, rain moved into the Coral Gables area, forcing a stoppage of play. After over an hour of waiting for the weather to clear, it was decided to suspend the match with no immediate sign of the weather clearing.
