*Head Coach Anson Dorrance earned his 800th career victory with the win. His career record is 800-93-39, including a 628-28-18 record with the Tar Heel women.
* With the win, North Carolina advanced to the NCAA Championship for the 21st time in 25 seasons. The Tar Heels are now 21-2 in NCAA semi-finals. They will be looking for their 18th National Championship on Sunday.
*The win also gives the Tar Heels 26 wins on the season. They will look to tie the school record of 27 wins on Sunday. Carolina won 27 games in 1997 and 2003.
*Freshman Casey Nogueira scored her first career NCAA tournament goal in the 84th minute. The goal was her third of the season and her second game-winning of the year. She has collected four points in NCAA Tournament play. Nogueira played a career-best 64 minutes.
*Heather O'Reilly's 86th minute goal gave her sole possession of 12th place on Carolina's all-time goal leaderboard. The goal was her 14th career NCAA tournament goal, her third of this year's tourney. She now has 41 career points in NCAA tournament play.
*Kristi Eveland's assist on Carolina's second goal was her first career point.
*Yael Averbuch assisted on both Carolina goals and leads the team with 39 points on the year.
*Ashlyn Harris faced a career-high six shots and made two key saves. She picked up her second straight victory to improve to 2-0 in her career.
