*UNC now leads the all-time series with Tennessee 8-0-1, including a victory in the 2002 NCAA Tournament Round of 16. The lone tie came in a scoreless match in the 2004 First Tennessee Classic.
*This was Tennessee's sixth straight year in the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Vols have never played beyond the third round.
*Senior Heather O'Reilly moved into sole possession of 11th place in UNC career points with 160, 12th place in UNC career assists with 48, and 13th place in UNC career goals with 56 with her one-goal, one-assist effort.
*Senior Elizabeth Guess scored her sixth goal of the season. Five of her goals this season have come in postseason tournament play. Of her 32 career goals, 17 have come in the postseason, either ACC or NCAA Tournament matches.
*Guess is now tied for 25th in UNC career points with 98 and she is now 26th in UNC career goals with 32.
*Sophomore Yael Averbuch now has a team-leading 16 goals on the season and a team-leading 37 points. She also scored her seventh game-winning goal of the season.
*Freshman Ashley Moore scored her first career goal in the second half.
*UNC will play in its 24th NCAA Tournament quarterfinal in 25 years. The only time the team did not reach the quarterfinals was 2004 when they suffered an overtime loss to Santa Clara in the Round of 16.
*UNC has won 24 straight games since its first game of the season, a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Texas A&M, next Saturday's opponent in the NCAA quarterfinals.
*The Tar Heels have outscored opponents 34-5 in the first half so far this season and 39-4 in the second half.
*This is only the second time this season the Tar Heels have allowed two goals in a match. Connecticut scored two against UNC on September 1 in a 3-2 Tar Heel win.
*The Lady Vols beat UAB in the first round and advanced on peanlty kicks against Duke in the second round. They held their opponents scoreless in their first two NCAA Tournament games.
