25th-Ranked Tar Heels Keep Winning Streak Intact

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina men's tennis team dropped only eight games in singles and three games in doubles Sunday afternoon as the No. 25 Tar Heels defeated Gardner-Webb 7-0 indoors at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The win was UNC's sixth in a row as the Tar Heels improved to 8-2 on the campaign. Gardner-Webb is 0-10 on the season. UNC will host Elon Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the second match of a Sunday doubleheader at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels have now won three successive matches by 7-0 scores and they have six of their eight wins this year by shutout scores. UNC was particularly dominant Sunday at the No. 4-6 singles positions where Benjamin Carlotti, Sebastian Guejman and David Stone all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
