Tar Heels Women's Tennis Dominates Season Opener

Chapel Hill, N.C.-- The UNC women's tennis team dominated UNC Greensboro 7-0 Wednesday in its season opener. Carolina swept its opponents in each of the six singles matches and all three doubles matchups. Combined, the Tar Heels only forfeited two singles games throughout all six matches. Julie Rotondi, Kate Pinchbeck, Aniela Mojzis, and Kendall Cline each defeated their opponents in straight sets. Lee Bairos and Caroline Hill won with scores of 6-1, 6-0.
The doubles tandem of Mojzis and Hill defeated Kristen Adanson and Kate LaCoste with a score of 8-1. Pinchbeck and Rotondi were also victorious with a score of 8-1, defeating Sonnia Orellana and Lindsey Peel. Bairos and Cline won 8-3 over UNC Greensboro's Carlin Kannan and Amanda Eutsler.
"It was a great start to the season," said head coach Jen Callen "The players were focused and disciplined throughout the entire match."
The Tar Heels will host Richmond Saturday at noon at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
