Two Tar Heels Claim Championships in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Two Tar Heels claimed the top spot in their flights at the St. Mary's Health System Women's Tennis Classic at the University of Tennessee Sunday.
In one of the most tightly contested matches of the tournament, Kendrick Bunn squeezed by Leigh Bradwell of Kentucky 7-6 (1), 6-7 (8), 6-3 in the flight five final. Caroline Hill earned the top spot in flight eight, sweeping Danielle Petrisko 6-3, 6-4.
Several other Tar Heels finished near the top as Kate Pinchbeck, Kristen Koening, Leigh Bairos and Kendall Cline each lost in the final round and finished with second-place finishes in their flights.
Aniela Mojzis earned third place with her 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory over Amy Walgenbach of Purdue in flight three.
The Tar Heels will next see action at the Furman Fall Tournament in Greenville, S.C. starting Sept. 28.
