Women's Tennis Falls To Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Indiana - The 28th ranked University of North Carolina women's tennis team fell to 11th ranked Notre Dame Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion, 6-1.
The Tar Heels won the doubles point by taking two of three matches from the Fighting Irish but were swept in singles play. The doubles teams of Elina airos/Marlene Mejia and Erin Niebling/Courtney Zalinski both won their matches 8-6.
Carolina was playing its second match of the weekend. The team defeated the 16th ranked Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday , 4-3.
Carolina was playing without Julie Rotondi, who is sidelined with an ankle injury that she sustained against Kentucky.
The Tar Heels are in action next weekend when they travel to Illinois and Indiana.
