CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina's women's tennis team downed Indiana 6-0 Saturday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center to sweep its second consecutive contest and win its third straight match.
Tar Heel senior Jessica Zaganczyk won a three-set thriller to secure the shutout. Down 5-1 in the third set, the Hoosiers' Kelly Blanch won four straight games to tie the score at 5-5. Zaganczyk responded by taking the next two games to give her the win (6-3, 1-6, 7-5) and the team the sweep. Carolina (8-8, 2-2 ACC) also blanked N.C. State on Wednesday.
UNC's freshmen trio of Marlene Mejia, Kendrick Bunn and Kate Pinchbeck all posted victories, as did sophomore Caroline Hill and junior Courtney Zalinski.
With the match already decided, doubles matches were not played.
The Heels return to action Wednesday when they host No. 28 Virginia Commenwealth at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center at 4 p.m.
