Men's Tennis Upsets Miami, 5-2

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina's 75th-ranked men's tennis team scored one of its best wins of the season Saturday afternoon, upsetting 44th-ranked Miami at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Coach Sam Pauls' team took a quick 1-0 lead in the match as the Tar Heels won all three doubles matches with relative ease. In singles, UNC earned four more team points with a quartet of straight set wins.
Senior Michael Grass defeated Arpad Odry 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles, junior Assaf Drori downed Jose Lieberman 6-4, 6-3 at #2 singles, sophomore David Cheatwood whipped Jamin Thompson 6-3, 6-3 at #3 singles and freshman Bjorn Rencken triumped over Mark Arrowsmith 6-4, 6-4 at #5 singles.
With the win the Tar Heels improved to 10-9 overall on the campaign while the Hurricanes fell to 8-8 heading into a match with #7 Duke Sunday afternoon in Durham, N.C.
The Tar Heels will play at 43rd-rated Wake Forest on Wednesday in Winston-Salem, N.C. Match time is 2:30 p.m.
