A member of the UNC staff since 1994, Matt Bowers serves as Associate Director of Athletic Communications. His responsibilities include serving as the managing editor of GoHeels.com, as well as publicizing and coordinating media relations for the men's basketball and women's lacrosse teams.
Bowers served as an intern and as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications before being promoted to his current position in 2006.
A UNC graduate, Bowers earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994 with a double major in history and psychology. He was an honors graduate and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Bowers was born and raised in Chapel Hill and currently lives in Hillsborough, N.C., with his wife, Crystal, and their son, Sam, and daughter, Chloe.
