Ranks as the seventh fastest 200-yard butterflier in Carolina history at 1:59.89...a two-time returning letter winner who was one of the top recruits in the nation coming out of high school in 1999...swims primarily 100 and 200 fly and 500 free…one of the top 200 butterflyers in the U.S.…was ranked 11th in the world in 2000 in the 200 meter butterfly…took the 1999-2000 academic year off in order to focus on her training for the 2000 Olympic Trials…swam for the Curl-Burke Swim Club under coach Rick Curl...outstanding student.
2001-02:
Chosen for Dean’s List in both fall semester 2001 and spring semester 2002...named to 2002 ACC Academic Honor Roll...placed in the three events at the ACC Championships...she was fourth in 200 fly, seventh in the 100 fly and 12th in the 500 free...also swam on 400 MR which placed third.
2000-2001:
At the 2001 ACC Championships, she placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly, took 20th place in the 500-yard freestyle and was the fifth-place finisher in the 200-yard butterfly...qualified for the 2001 NCAA Championships in three events...finished 30th in the 200-yard butterfly, 41st in the 500-yard freestyle and 42nd in the 100-yard butterfly...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll...named to Dean’s List in spring semester 2001.

Graduated on June 8, 1999 from Sidwell Friends School…was team captain of her high school team her junior and senior years…named to the Washington Post All Metro team her sophomore through senior years…was a 10-time high school All America…was a member of the 1997 National Junior Team…placed second in the 200 fly at the 1998 Goodwill Games…was a member of the1997 and 1998 USS All America Teams in the 200 fly…was the 1998 USS National Champion in the 200 fly…has been a finalist in the 200 fly seven national championships in recent years…was a member of the National B Team…was a member of the Curl Burke team that won spring nationals in 2000.

Was born on April 22, 1981 in New York, N.Y....has earned the nicknames “Humpy” and “Kryptonite” from her teammates……is the daughter of Patricia and Moses Freedman…has two brothers and one sister…her biggest athletic thrill was winning nationals because it was her biggest goal at that point…holds the Jewish World Record in the 200 Butterfly…athlete she most admires is Michelle Griglione because she is so dedicated…biology major.
