Played at North Mecklenberg High School in Huntersville, N.C., from 2015-18 and his senior year at Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio • Averaged 19.8 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots in 2018-19 at Cleveland Heights • Averaged 20 points, 10.1 rebounds and shot 43 percent from three-point range in leading North Mecklenberg to a 27-2 record and the 2018 regular-season and tournament conference championships • Earned first team all-state honors in North Carolina as a junior from the Associated Press, was the Charlotte Observer’s 4A Metro Player of the Year and the conference player of the year • Played AAU for Team Loaded North Carolina • Played in the Roundball Classic in Pittsburgh.

First name pronounced JAY-lynn • Born Dec. 20, 2000, in Charlotte • Son of Sheena Carr and Curtis Withers • Curtis was a three-time All-Conference USA forward at Charlotte from 2002-06 and is second in 49er history in double-doubles (46), third in rebounding (1,042) and seventh in scoring (1,750) • Has four siblings – Jayla, Ja’Kayla and Jah’King Withers and Messiah Carr • His cousin, Jaire Alexander, played football at Louisville (2015-17) and is a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, who selected him in the first round in 2018 • Is pursuing a master's degree in applied professional studies.
