Career Best Times: 56.47 in 100-yard breaststroke; 2:00.54 in 200-yard breaststroke; 1:50.73 in 200-yard individual medley; 3:52.43 in 400-yard individual medley.
2011-12: Had an impressive freshman year that really came together at the season-ending Virginia Tech Invitational...he won three events there, capturing the 400-yard individual medley in a pool record time of 3:52.43, the 200-yard breaststroke in a pool record time of 2:00.54 and the 200-yard individual medley in 1:50.73...he also finished fifth in the 100 breast at that meet in 56.85...a 2011-12 ACC Academic Honor Roll selection...at the 2011 Janis Hape Dowd Nike Cup he placed fifth in the 400 IM (4:01.28) and 13th in the 200 breaststroke (2:05.15)...in the dual meet win over Clemson, he swept the 200 breast in 2:08.86 and the 200 IM in 1:57.81.
Prep: Graduated from Ridgefield High School...four-year varsity swimmer...specialized in 100 breast and 200 IM and as member of squad's 200 and 400 free relays...copped high school All-America honors as a junior and senior...met 2012 Olympic Trials qualifying standard in 200-meter breaststroke...at junior national championships he was an "A" finalist in the 200 breast and a "C" finalist in the 400 IM...high school team captain...two-time Academic All-America...Connecticut Scholar Athlete...participated in club swimming for the hometown Ridgefield Aquatic Club.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being able to proudly show off the NC.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his ability to keep the mood light even when the swimming is tough.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my breaststroke pullouts.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Andrew Klutey at Princeton University.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is being average.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time sleeping or practicing back flips.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be curling.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Ultra Music Festival.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is...they know too much.
