Career Best Times: 1:38.19 in 200-yard freestyle; 4:21.64 in 500-yard freestyle; 9:17.95 in 1000-yard freestyle; 15:09.67 in 1650-yard freestyle; 1:48.61 in 200-yard backstroke; 1:47.57 in 200-yard butterfly; 3:52.49 in 400-yard individual medley.
Long Course Highlights: Had an excellent 2012 season on the long course circuit...was 19th in the 1500-meter freestyle in the Olympic Trials, going 15:33.84...placed sixth in the same event at the 2012 U.S. Open with a time of 15:27.87 and was 15th in the USS Championship with a clocking of 15:46.99.
2012-13: Elected team co-captain with Alex Gianino.
2011-12: Won the Bruce Webster Memorial Award as the most dedicated swimmer on the 2011-12 team...All-ACC honoree in the 1650-yard freestyle...was a finalist in two events at the ACC meet...placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle in 15:10.47 and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:25.53...also excelled at the Nike Cup Championships...won the 1650 free in the meet with a time of 15:09.67, a new career best...was the Nike Cup runner-up in the 500 free with a time of 4:24.83...also placed fifth in the 200 free (1:39.57) and seventh in the 200 fly (1:51.29)...was a member of an 800 free relay team which took second in the meet and a 400 free relay team which placed seventh...won the 500 free in the dual meet wins over Virginia Tech and Maryland...named to 2012 All-ACC Academic Swimming Team...member of 2011-12 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2009-10 (at Wisconsin): Won the 200-yard freestyle at the Milwaukee Dual in 1:43.42... also won the 500-yard freestyle at the Milwaukee Dual in 4:43.22... took second place in the 200-yard freestyle at the Minnesota Dual (1:41.59) and the Northwestern Dual (1:41.64)... finished third in the 100-yard butterfly at the Milwaukee Dual in 52.35
2008-09 (at Wisconsin): Finished 18th in the 500-yard freestyle (4:22.56), 19th in the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.78), 27th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.36) and was a member of Badgers' fourth place 800-yard freestyle relay team (6:28.04) at the Big Ten Championships ... finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:32.43), 11th in the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.17), 13th in the 100-yard butterfly (48.46) and was a member of UW's second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team (6:31.78) at the Texas Invitational ... 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in 200-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly
Prep: Graduated in 2008 from David Douglas High School... played two years of water polo and was on varsity swimming team for four seasons...five-time individual state champion, winning 200 free and 100 back titles twice each and claiming a title in the 100 fly ... helped team to 2008 Oregon Class 6A state title ... seven-time All-America selection ... holds Oregon state high school records in 100 fly and 200 free ... eight-time All-State selection ... twice named district MVP ... set school records in 100 free, 200 free, 100 fly and 400 free relay ... member of National Honor Society.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is wearing the NC on my cap and representing the Tar Heel Nation to it's fullest.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his ability to make swimming with him fun every day and every practice.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is not thinking and going with the flow bro.
4. My best friend on another college swimming/diving team is Greg Zupek on Wisconsin
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is being consistently consistent.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time cooking or pwning some noobs on Xbox.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be baseball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Madeon.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is I thoroughly enjoy watching the Food Network
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that included my maaaaam's food because she can cook better than anyone.
2. My favorite beverage is ice cold milk.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is Brett Casserole made by my maaaaaam.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is the Yogurt Pump.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is nothing. There is no food that makes me feel guilty.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go back to the year 1999 and play myself at Super Smash Brothers and 007 Golden Eye on the N64
2. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Dirk Nowitzki.
3. My dream job is having my own Food Network Show or being a popular YouTube game director.
4. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is Sean Lane.
