2019-20: Finished eighth overall in the mile final with a personal-best time of 4:46.10 at the ACC Indoor Championships • Also ran the second leg of Carolina’s fourth-place 4x400 (3:46.22) and ninth-place DMR (11:36.50) • Competed in four regular season meets, including mile appearances at the Valentine Invitational and Power 5 Invitational as well as a second-place finish in the DMR at the Virginia Tech Invitational • Outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic • Named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2019 XC: Clocked a personal-best 6K time of 21:14.0 to finish 38th at the NCAA Southeast Regional • Placed 51st in the women’s 6K race (22:04.7) at the ACC Cross Country Championships • Scored for the Tar Heels in all six team competitions, including an eighth-place finish in the Elon Opener 4K, an eighth-place finish in the Cavalier Classic 5K and a personal-best 5K performance (17:35.3) in the Joe Piane ND Invitational.
2018-19: Placed 10th in the 800 (2:10.90) and 11th in the DMR (11:38.36) at the ACC Indoor Championships • Helped Carolina’s DMR place second at the JDL DMR Invitational • Competed in the 800 at Boston’s Valentine Invitational (2:08.82) and Clemson’s Bob Pollock Invitational (2:09.62) taking fourth in the latter • In outdoors, finished 10th in the 800 with a lifetime-best performance (2:08.22) at the ACC Outdoor Championship • Won the 800 (2:08.91) at the VCU Final Qualifier meet that same weekend in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary Round • Racked up two second-place finishes in the 800 — Virginia Grand Prix (2:08.60) and the Battle of the Blues (2:08.61) • Opened her outdoor season with a personal record in the 1,500 meters (4:27.74) while also finishing 11th in the 800 (2:10.30) at the Raleigh Relays • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2018 XC: Finished 132nd in the women’s 6K (22:11.3) at the NCAA Southeast Regional • Placed 76th in the 6K (22:06.5) at the ACC Championships • Scored for Carolina in each of the regular season meets — Charlotte Opener, Battle in Beantown and Penn State National XC Open.
2017-18: Set a personal record in the mile at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships and finished 14th • Racked up five top-five finishes from seven appearances during her indoor season • Finished 26th in the 1,500-meter at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
2017 XC: Finished 74th at the NCAA Southeast Regional • Took 73rd at the ACC Cross Country Championships • Set a 4k personal best of 14:52 at the Elon Opener and a 5k personal best of 18:06.39 at the Louisville Classic.
2016-17: Set a new personal-best of 4:28.90, finishing 12th, in the 1500 and competed in the 800 at the USA Junior Championships • Took 13th place in the 800 at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships • Set a new personal best of 2:08.54 in the 800 at the Virginia Challenge • Kicked off the outdoor season by winning the 800 at the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays • Had four top-five finishes during the outdoor season • Did not compete during the indoor season • Named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2016 XC: Took 65th place at the NCAA Southeast Regional • Finished in 74th at the ACC Cross Country Championships • Ran a personal best of 18:11 for the 5k distance at the Joe Plane Invitational • Placed ninth during her first collegiate cross country meet at the Elon Opener.
Prep: Captained her cross country and track and field teams for two years • Led her outdoor track team to state championship titles in 2014 and 2015 • Ran a leg in the 4x400 to help earn the state championship in the event in 2014 and 2015 • 800 and 1600 state champion in 2016 • National Honor Society Member • AP Scholar with Distinction • Graduated Summa Cum Laude • 2015 Kentucky National Guard Best and Brightest Award • 8th Region Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Personal: Erin Frances Edmundson is the daughter of Doan and Jeanette Edmundson • Born April 28 • Has been playing the violin for eight years • Her mother swam for UNC her freshman year before getting injured.
