Men's Tennis Continues Play Sunday At ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, OKLA.—Members of the University of North Carolina men's tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday. Tar Heels Niels Ratiu and Will Mayew each won their round-of-128 pre-qualifying matches in straight sets to advance before falling in the round of 64.
Ratiu beat Ferdinand Cloisters of Wisconsin, 6-4, 7-6 (3), while Mayew beat Dmitry Kopilevish of East Tennessee State by a 6-1, 6-3 score.
In the next round, Notre Dame's Kyran Magimay topped Ratiu, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (7), and Matthieu Chambonniere from TCU defeated Mayew, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (3).
In doubles action, Mayew and Sebastian Sec defeated Washington's Soham Purohi and Stephane Kamendje , 7-5, 7-5, to advance to the qualifying bracket. They join Ratiu and Chris Xu in awaiting their turn to play in the doubles qualifying draw on Monday in Tulsa.
