Taissa Queiroz Set To Attend Brazilian National Team Training Camp

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Following a summer of training in Chapel Hill, rising sophomore guard Taissa Queiroz returns to her home country to attend training camp for the Brazilian National Team with the hopes of making the team before the FIBA Women's Americup South American Qualifiers.
Queiroz returns to her home country to earn another shot at playing for her national team, having previously represented Brazil last summer at the 2025 Globajam and in multiple exhibition games against WNBA teams.
Were Queiroz to earn a spot on the national team, she would compete with Brazil at the FIBA Women's Americup South American Qualifiers in Argentina with the hopes of earning a spot at the 2027 Women's Americup in El Salvador.
In her first season with the Tar Heels, Queiroz appeared in 25 games off the bench. The Belo Horizonte native scored a career-high 10 points against Miami and grabbed a best of seven rebounds at Duke in her rookie season while shooting 49.2% from the field.
