Roan Jones, a senior on the men's tennis team at the University of North Carolina, has earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, the CSC announced on Tuesday.
In addition, Jones was selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
A native of Shrewsbury, England, Jones has earned a 3.723 cumulative grade point average at Carolina and graduated with a degree in economics last weekend.
First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 3, 2026.
A transfer from the University of Alabama in his first year in Chapel Hill, Jones played mostly at No. 2 singles for the Tar Heels during the 2025-26 season, posting a record of 18-13. He and fellow British countryman Anthony Wright teamed to hold down the No. 1 doubles spot in the UNC lineup, going 14-7 in dual matches and earning a peak ranking of No. 20 in the nation in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings during the season.
