CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina gymnastics and head coach Danna Durante announced the addition of CC Cooley to the program. The graduate transfer heads to Chapel Hill after spending four years competing at Denver.
Cooley joins the program as an experienced all-around gymnast. At Denver, she was a 2023 NCAA national qualifier, two-time Big 12 Gymnast of the Week, 2026 All-Big 12 on beam and floor, and Big 12 Championship beam runner-up.
Prior to collegiate gymnastics, Cooley trained at Gotham Gymnastics. The New York native has an opportunity to return to the east coast while finding a home to flourish both academically and athletically.
"Carolina meets everything I'm looking for at this stage of my life. Academically, it's unmatched, and the master's program I was accepted into is a perfect fit for my career goals. Athletically, Carolina gymnastics feels like the right home. I'm excited to contribute to a program on the rise and help show the country what this team is capable of. I know it's a place where I can continue to challenge myself and reach new heights in my final year of gymnastics, " said Cooley.
