Heels Begin Third Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held an eight-inning scrimmage on Monday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The Heels were not originally supposed to scrimmage on Monday, but with rain in the forecast for midweek, the scrimmage schedule has been adjusted.
Offensive Highlights:Â Three players had multiple base hits. Owen Hull, who doubled, was 2-4 with two RBI. AJ Terry was 2-2 with two RBI, while Colin Hynek was 2-3 with a double.Â
Cooper Nicholson belted a 422-foot home run off the batter's eye in dead center field, while Jadyn Nunez ripped a 376-foot homer to left. Sawyer Black, Tyler Howe and Perry Hargett each had a double.
Pitching Highlights:Â Boston Flannery hurled three scoreless innings, striking out seven batters and walking none. Tim Lawson tossed a scoreless inning while striking out two of the four hitters he faced. Folger Boaz retired all six hitters he faced.
Carolina's next scrimmage, weather permitting, will be on Tuesday.
