WBB Strengthens Staff, Adding Lexi Weger As Video Coordinator

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Following two seasons as a graduate assistant for North Carolina women's basketball, Lexi Weger has been named the program's video coordinator as head coach Courtney Banghart announced on Thursday.

"I am thrilled to have Lexi join our staff as our video coordinator. As program that uses video extensively, Lexi will have a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of our team," said Banghart. "Lexi has a very high basketball IQ, can synthesis scouts and practice and game sorters efficiently, and is someone who has had her hands in many other important aspects of our program over the past two years as our graduate student. She is a doer, a winner, and a great teammate and she will make us better. Welcome aboard!"

Weger joined Carolina in 2023 after graduating from Princeton with a degree in psychology, spending the last two seasons as a graduate assistant and assisting with video services, scouting as well as overseeing managers and practice players.

At Princeton, Weger was a four-time Ivy League champion and appeared in 57 games for the Tigers. During her undergraduate career, she interned with the NBA as an International commercial strategy & development Intern as well as with NBC Sports Group where she served as a digital production assistant for the Tokyo Summer Olympics.

A Tar Heel alum, Weger recently earned her Masters in Sports Administration from Carolina.

These past two seasons have been incredibly meaningful, and I am grateful for the opportunity to keep contributing to this program in a larger capacity," said Weger. "I want to thank Coach Banghart for her continued trust and mentorship.
