Men’s Tennis Adds Transfer Roan Jones To 2025-26 Roster

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Bolstering its roster for the 2025-26 season, the University of North Carolina men's tennis team has signed Roan Jones from the University of Alabama, a transfer who will join the Tar Heel roster for the 2025-26 season.
"We're very excited for Roan to join our team," head coach Sam Paul says. "He's a tremendous competitor with good experience, and he's a great student. There's no doubt he'll be a positive addition to our program."
Jones, a native of Shrewsbury, England, held down the No. 2 singles position for Alabama for most of the 2024-25 campaign after qualifying for the NCAA Singles Championship in the fall. Ranked nationally by the ITA in singles every week in the Spring, Jones won 23 singles matches while competing as a junior in 2024-25, including seven over ranked opponents. He entered the 2025 NCAA Tournament ranked No. 77 in singles after being as high as No. 59 earlier in the Spring.
Jones has posted 50 career singles wins along with 36 doubles victories. Prior to enrolling at Alabama, he was ranked the No. 8 U18 player in Great Britain.
