Softball Drops Series Finale To Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – UNC softball dropped a game on Sunday afternoon to Duke by a score of 3-0.
Getting runners on wasn't an issue for the Tar Heels, who put together plenty of quality at bats. They managed eight hits and worked three walks but left 11 runners on bases as the timely hits just didn't come.
Kiannah Pierce continued her hot week, going 2-3 on the day. On the week she went 10-14 for a .714 average, driving in nine runs, with five doubles and a homer. She slugged 1.286 this week with an OPS of 2.000
Alex Coleman also put together a good day at the plate, going 3-4. She also had a solid week with eight hits for a .571 average.
Kat Rodriguez reached a milestone, in the fifth inning she picked up her 200th career hit. She is the second Tar Heel to hit that mark this season, joining Coleman.
UNC pitching impressed today, both Britton Rogers and Lilly Parrish threw three innings with one earned run allowed.
Next up for Carolina is a midweek against ECU. UNC will be hosting pride night.
