
Vázquez Montaño, Smith Claim All-America Honors On Friday At NCAA Championships

Federal Way, Wash. – Aranza Vázquez Montaño added another All-America honor to her resume and Skyler Smith claimed honorable mention to lead North Carolina's women's swimming and diving program at the NCAA Championships on Friday. The Tar Heels are currently 14th in the standings with 50 points.
Vázquez Montaño claimed fifth in the 3-meter springboard to claim her second podium in as many nights. She scored 361.15 points to land in the top five after finishing fourth on the 1-meter last night. Smith earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 100 breast after placing seventh in the consolation final.
During prelims, Emma Karam clocked a personal best of 51.52 in the 100 back to move to No. 6 all-time at UNC in the event.
