Mayew & Schinnerer Fall In NCAA Doubles Round Of 16

ORLANDO, FLA.—Tar Heel freshmen Ian Mayew and Kase Schinnerer dropped their NCAA Doubles Championship round of 16 match to Max Stenzer and Sean Daryabeigi of South Carolina on Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.
The Gamecock duo, ranked No. 74 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles rankings, topped Mayew and Schinnerer, 7-6 (2), 6-4, leaving the Tar Heel newcomers one win short of earning All-America status in their first collegiate season.
The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will continue in Orlando through Sunday.
The Tar Heels will return to action in January with the 2026 dual match season. Carolina's spring schedule should be available soon on GoHeels.com.
