Swimming Records Six New Top 10s, Adds Nine NCAA Standards At SC Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The North Carolina swimming program turned in six new UNC Top 10s and tallied nine NCAA standards during day two of the South Carolina Invitational on Wednesday. The group also posted four event wins and eight personal bests on the day.

Louis Dramm turned in a dominant performance in the 400 IM at 3:40.54 to win the event by over four seconds. Teammate Josh Parent finished second in 3:44.96 to move to No. 9 all-time at UNC in the event. That was Parent's second Top-10 performance in as many days.

Mary Macaulay improved on her personal best in winning the 400 IM and moved to No. 5 all-time at UNC in the event at 4:09.85. David Quaresma had a big day in the 200 freestyle, posting two personal bests and finishing at No. 3 all-time at UNC with a time of 1:33.94. Ben Delmar does what he normally does and won the 100 breast in 51.74.

Maren Conze improved on her time at the No. 10 position in the 200 freestyle while finishing second in 1:45.75. The women's 200 medley relay of Sophia Frei, Samantha Armand, Kamryn Meskill and Eden Goettsch took first in 1:37.98.

The Heels will return to the pool on Thursday with another round of prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Fans can follow along on Meet Mobile or find the South Carolina parents' YouTube feed that did a nice job of streaming finals on Wednesday.
