CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina Cross Country team competes in the Virginia Invitational on Saturday, September 14th, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The men's 8k race starts at 8:45 am EST, and the women's 5k will follow at 9:30 am EST.

The Tar Heels are coming off a strong start to the season. Both programs swept the competition two weeks ago in the Charlotte Opener.

The women claimed the first five spots in that race, scoring 15 points total, and crossing the finish line within two seconds of each other. The men also posted a fantastic opener, claiming six of the top ten spots and scoring 24 points.

In the Rankings

The men's team was picked to finish first in the ACC and Southeast Region preseason poll, while the women's team was picked to finish fifth in the ACC and fourth in the Southeast Region preseason poll.
