
Women's Golf 6th After Round One In NCAA Regional

Tar Heels Megan Streicher and Kayla Smith combined to shoot 1 under par in the opening round of the NCAA Auburn Women's Golf Regional Monday at the Auburn University Club.
The University of North Carolina shot 12-over 300 to sixth in the 12-team field. The top five teams following Wednesday's third round advance to the NCAA Championship May 17-22 in Carlsbad, Calif.
Streicher made three birdies and two bogeys for a 1-under-par 71, while Smith shot even par.
Streicher is tied for third in the individual standings two shots behind the leaders, Auburn's Megan Schofill and South Carolina's Louise Rydqvist, who shot matching 69s.
Smith is tied for fifth just three back.
UNC's Ing Iadpluem finished 5-over 77, Inez Ng shot 80 and Crista Izuzquiza had an 85.
Auburn leads at 2-over 290, the Gamecocks are second at 5 over, Houston, Tulsa and Oregon are tied for third at 10 over, two strokes ahead of the Tar Heels.
Miami is seventh at +17.
