Tar Heels Finish Regular Season Strong At Liberty Twilight Qualifier

LYNCHBURG, VA.— Members of Carolina's track and field teams competed in the Liberty Twilight Qualifer on Wednesday.
Senior Patrick Crockett earned the Tar Heels' only event win of the meet in the men's javelin, setting a personal record with a throw of 62.77 meters, beating out his previous best throw set just last Saturday at the Charlotte Invitational.
Ty Castro also set a personal record in the men's hammer throw, with 50.38 meters, earning him third place in the event. His freshman teammate, Sam Romerhaus, finished right behind him in fourth.
Aaliyah Berry earned a second-place finish in the women's 100m hurdles, running 13.85 seconds both in the finals and qualifiers.
Ben Finger finished third in the men's pole vault, clearing 4.87 meters.
It was the final regular season meet of the 2024 season for the Tar Heels, who will compete at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on May 9-11 in Atlanta, Ga.
