CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina softball team (24-10) dropped a midweek matchup with UNCW, 4-2, on Wednesday night in Anderson Stadium.

Carolina got on the board first in the bottom of the first, scoring a run on an RBI double from redshirt sophomore Isabela Emerling.
Senior Carsyn Snead plated the Tar Heels' second run of the game in the bottom of the second with a two-out RBI-bunt, scoring Destiny Middleton.
UNCW even up the game in the top of the third, scoring a pair of runs on a two-RBI triple. It remained a 2-2 deadlock until the Seahawks hit their first solo home run to lead off the top of the sixth and make it 3-2.

Rogers (8-4) took the loss, giving up two runs, allowing five hits and two walks, while striking out three Seahawks.
Skyler Brooks and Snead led the Tar Heels at the plate with a pair of hits each.
