Softball Falls To Georgia Tech, 6-2, In Game Two

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina softball team (21-8, 3-5 ACC) set up a Sunday rubber match after falling to Georgia Tech (22-11, 8-3 ACC), 6-2, in game two of the series.
Redshirt junior Britton Rogers (8-2) took the loss in the circle, allowing five runs, two hits, three walks and two hit by pitches in three innings. Senior Talia Hannappel threw four innings of relief, allowing just one run, five hits and recording a pair of strikeouts.
Despite drawing seven walks, the Tar Heel offense tallied just four hits to eight from the Yellow Jackets, with freshman Sanaa Thompson and graduate Autumn Owen each driving in a run.
The Tar Heels will look to rebound and clinch the series on Sunday at 12 p.m. at Anderson Stadium.
