Tar Heels Headed To South Carolina & Texas This Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina swimming and diving heads to its first true road test of the season as the squad is split between Texas and South Carolina.

Diving will head to Dallas, Texas on Thursday, and swimming is in Columbia, S.C., on Wednesday.

The SMU Diving Invitational starts at 11:00 a.m. EST on Thursday and goes through Saturday, Nov. 23. The South Carolina Invitational begins at 10:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday and wraps on Friday, Nov. 22.

The men's team is coming off an impressive win against Virginia 208.5-91.5 at the start of November, which vaulted them into their first ranking of the season at No. 12. The women moved up two spots to No. 19 after a solid showing against the No. 1 Cavaliers.

Freshman Lanie Gutch and sophomore Ben Delmar earned their first Atlantic Coast Conference accolade of the season after the Virginia meet. The ACC named Gutch the Women's Diver of the Week and Delmar the Co-Men's Swimmer of the Week.
