Swim & Dive Wrap Up Dual Meet Season At Duke

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The UNC swimming and diving team will wrap up its 2023-24 dual meet season Friday as the Tar Heels trek to Durham to face rival Duke at the Taishoff-Aquatic-Pavilion. The meet is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be streamed on ACCN Extra.
The UNC men are 4-1 on the season, while the Carolina women own a record of 3-2-1. The Blue Devils' men's team is 0-4 and the women are 4-2.
The Tar Heel men and women suffered their first losses of the season a week ago, falling in Charlottesville, Va., to the host Cavaliers and NC State. Sophomore Louis Dramm posted the lone victory for the UNC men, touching first in the 400 IM before taking second in the 200 IM.
Senior Ellie VanNote recorded the UNC women's top finish of the tri-meet, placing second in the 200 butterfly. Lily Reader claimed third place in the 500 freestyle.
In the diving well, Aranza Vazquez Montaño registered her fifth straight win in the one-meter competition and captured second place in the three-meter event.
UNC swept the Blue Devils in Chapel Hill last season at Koury Natatorium with the Carolina men posting a 180-119 victory and the women recording a 164-136 win. The Tar Heels lead the all-time men's series 83-5 and the women's series 45-4.
