Softball Hosts ECU For Wednesday Matchup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After securing their first Atlantic Coast Conference series victory of the season at Boston College over the weekend, the Carolina softball team (13-21, 3-6 ACC) returns home to host ECU Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Anderson Stadium.
The matchup will be broadcasted on ACC Network with Drew Carter as play-by-play and former Carolina softball catcher Brittany McKinney as the analyst.
Wednesday is also Dogs at the Diamond night. Fans are invited to bring their dog to the ballpark to enjoy the matchup. The first 50 dogs and dog owners will receive a Carolina Softball reusable dog bowl.

SCOUTING THE PIRATES
- ECU is 21-12 overall on the season and 0-3 in American Conference play. The Pirates, who have only played one conference series so far, were swept at South Florida last weekend
- Taylor Edwards leads the Pirates with a .371 batting average, 33 hits ,18 RBIs and seven doubles. Logan Sutton has hit four of ECU's seven home runs
- Addy Bullis leads ECU in the circle with a 1.52 ERA in 96.2 innings pitched with a record of 12-4. She has tallied 70 strikeouts on the season, allowing just 21 earned runs
- The Pirates rank fifth in the American in batting (.252), third in pitching (3.11 ERA) and third in fielding (.966 fielding percentage)
- Alex Brown and Abby Settlemyre each have a team-best 10 multi-hit games on the season. Settlemyre leads Carolina with nine multi-RBI games
- Settlemyre ranks in the top-10 in the ACC in conference play in batting average, slugging, on-base percentage, OPS, hits and RBIs. She ranks fourth overall on the season of any player in the ACC with 38 hits
- Lilli Backes has pitched the third-most innings (89.2) of any pitcher in the ACC
- Skyler Brooks has the top fielding percentage in the ACC
- Settlemyre is one hit away from career hit No. 100
