CLEMSON, S.C.—The 11th-ranked North Carolina men's tennis team played with poise and overcame a strong effort by Clemson, beating the Tigers, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at the indoor courts of the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
Carolina won for the seventh time in its last eight matches, improving to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson fell to 10-8, 1-5.
The Tar Heels won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead, then got singles wins from Benjamin Kittay, Karl Poling and Will Jansen to clinch the victory.
After playing on the road for much of the month of March, the Tar Heels will play their final five regular season matches at home.
Carolina will host NC State on Friday March 31 at 5 p.m. and Wake Forest on Sunday April 2 to start the homestand.
