CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Tar Heels (10-19, 1-5 ACC) were limited to just one hit on Sunday, falling to No. 15 Duke 8-0 in five innings at Anderson Stadium. The Blue Devils went 3-0 in the series.

Duke (24-5, 7-2 ACC) hit three home runs, including a leadoff home run to open the game, tallying nine hits on the day.

Abby Settlemyre had Carolina's sole hit, bringing her weekend total against Duke to three home runs, six hits, seven RBIs and a pair of walks.

Carolina had three errors in the game, bringing their three-game weekend total to nine.

Kenna Raye Dark (2-4) started the game and took the loss, allowing three earned runs, four hits and a walk. Lilli Backes, who had the Tar Heels' sole strikeout, pitched three innings, finishing with a line of five earned runs, five hits and a walk. Carlie Myrtle pitched the final out of the game.

Carolina now hits the road for a midweek matchup at App State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Boone, N.C.
