Junkkari Shoots Under Par At Cougar Classic

Senior Krista Junkkari shot her second round under par in the Cougar Classic and finished the tournament at 2 under in the University of North Carolina's season-opening women's golf tournament at the Yeamans Hall Golf Club.
Junkkari shot 1-under 70 in today's third and final round for a 2-under 211 total to tie for 21st place. The Elimäki, Finland native shot 69-72-70 over the 54 holes.

Carolina was 16th in the 18-team field at 21-over 873 (290-296-287).
The Tar Heel lineup included three freshmen, a junior and Junkkari.

Freshman Vilde Nystrøm tied for 59th (8-over 221), freshman Megan Streicher tied for 64th (9-over 222), freshman Inez Ng tied for 75th (11-over 224) and junior Crista Izuzquiza tied for 82nd (13-over 226).

Sophomore Riley Quartermain tied for 64th (9-over 222) as an individual entry.

The Tar Heels return to action Sept. 20-21 in Bryan, Texas, at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial.
