Men's Swimming Set For NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – The University of North Carolina men's swimming and diving team wraps up its 2021-22 campaign this week at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at the McAuley Aquatic on the campus of Georgia Tech.
The championship meet begins Wednesday, March 23, and concludes on Saturday, March 26. ESPN3 will have live coverage of the event each day beginning with prelims starting at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. Live results will be available on the NCAA Championships Central page.
A foursome of UNC swimmers and divers qualified individually for this year's championship meet. Senior diver Anton Down-Jenkins will compete in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events, while junior diver Alex Hart will participate in the 3-meter springboard competition.
Senior Tomas Sungalia is slated to compete in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle races with sophomore Boyd Poelke set to compete in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly.
Patrick Hussey, Jacob Rauch, Nick Radkov and Noah Rutberg will compete as part of four relay teams.
Down-Jenkins won both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard competitions at the 2022 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships to earn the automatic invitation to the national meet. He earned All-America honors in the 3-meter diving competition a year ago, placing fourth at the 2021 NCAA Championship.
Hart placed seventh in the men's 3-meter competition to earn a trip to Atlanta.
