
WSD Finished 14th At NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – North Carolina finished in 14th place at the 2022 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at McAuley Aquatic Center on Saturday. The Tar Heels finished with 109 points over the four-day event.
Virginia claimed the national championship with 551.5 points, 145.5 points ahead of second-place Texas (406). Stanford finished in third place with 399 points.
On the final day of competition, senior Grace Countie finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle championship finals. Fellow senior Sophie Lindner claimed third place in the consolation finals of the 200-yard backstroke as did Aranza Vazquez in the platform diving consolation finals.
Countie, Olivia Nel, Lilly Higgs and Heidi Lowe wrapped up the season for the Tar Heels with a 17th-pace finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
