It's been a big week for the UNC men's cross country program.

On Tuesday, Carolina moved into the top-30 USTFCCCA NCAA DI Cross Country Poll for the first time since 2015, settling at No. 29.

That followed Monday's announcement of regional rankings, in which UNC jumped four spots from eighth to fourth after winning its first race of the fall, the Charlotte Opener.

And on Friday, the Tar Heels will race at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C., the closest they'll come this season to competing at home. The multi-team meet will be staged at WakeMed Cross Country Course.

The UNC men will compete against host NC State, Campbell, Duke, North Carolina A&T, NC Central, UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest.

Fans are permitted to attend the race and parking is free.

The UNC women, ranked No. 13 nationally this week, are not competing in the meet in Cary. Next up for the women's team is the Battle in Beantown on Sept. 24 in Boston.
