Adam Leads UNC to Wrap Up Cavalier Match Play

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Wrapping up the semifinal and final rounds of the Cavalier Match Play, North Carolina split day two with a 3-2 win over NC State and a 3-2 setback to Louisville on Wednesday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Sophomore Kayla Smith won her match vs. NC State's Isabel Amezcua, 2&1, to clinch Carolina's 3-2 win over the Wolfpack on Wednesday morning before the final round. Both junior Jennifer Zhou and freshman Natalia Aseguinolaza clinched their match wins on Tuesday before dark.
However, Carolina dropped a 3-2 match to Louisville in the afternoon final. Freshman Nicole Adam led UNC with a 6&5 win over Louisville's Molly Lyne. Aseguinolaza clinched her match two up against Mairead Martin.
Both Zhou and Aseguinolaza won two of their three matches in Charlottesville.
Up next, the Tar Heels travel to the ACC Championship April 15-18 in Greensboro, N.C.
