Tar Heels Wrap Up ACC Play at Louisville

CHAPEL HILL – Winning back-to-back ACC series against top-25 opponents with a pair of midweek victories, North Carolina wraps up ACC play at Louisville Friday through Sunday. Statistically speaking, the Tar Heels and Cardinals are evenly matched with a speedy offense and steady pitching.

The series kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. Game two is slate for 1 p.m. Saturday and the series finale begins at noon Sunday. Admission is free to Ulmer Stadium. Fans can watch on the ACC Network Extra or follow live stats at gocards.com.

Senior Leah Murray leads off for Carolina in the order, owning a .352 average with 101 career stolen bases. Fellow senior Kiani Ramsey leads UNC with 55 hits, including her second home run of the season on Wednesday at UNCG.

Recently for Carolina (31-15, 15-6 ACC)
North Carolina took down a pair of in-state foes, UNCW Tuesday and UNCG Wednesday to take back their losses during the 2018 season. The Tar Heels waited until the sixth inning to clinch a 3-0 win over the Seahawks at home Wednesday, behind Hannah George's fourth complete-game shutout. Kiani Ramsey's second home run of the season helped Carolina to a come-back win over the Spartans, 6-2.
» Hannah George struck out eight vs. UNCW for a new single-game high.
» With three stolen bases Wednesday, Carolina upped its season total to 97.

On a six-game winning streak, Louisville wraps up home ACC play by hosting North Carolina at Ulmer Stadium. Most recently sweeping Georgia Tech in ACC play, the Cardinals own ranked wins over Michigan, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Kentucky. As a team, Louisville leads the country in triples/game with 0.57, paced by Celene Funke's 10 to-date. Five Cardinals are batting over .300 while Megan Hensley paves the way with a .625 slugging percentage. UL is coming off a 5-4 win at Marshall Tuesday.
