
Eskew Completes Heptathlon Day One At the Clemson Invite

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina's Will Eskew completed the first day of the indoor heptathlon at the Clemson Invitational Friday. He is in sixth place with 2201Â points after the 60 meters, long jump, shot put and high jump.
Eskew, a sophomore from Nashville, Tenn., ran a 7.75 in the 60m, jumped 19-6 (5.94 meters) in the long jump, threw 34-9 (10.59 meters) in the shot put and had a 5-3 ¼ (1.61 meters) high jump.Â
He will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the 1000 meters Saturday.
Nicole Greene and Draven Crist will also compete at the Clemson Invitational in the high jump Saturday - Greene at 11 a.m. and Christ at 1 p.m. Greene is set to go up against an elite group of jumpers that should push her towards another personal-best after her 6-2 (1.88 meters) jump at the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup last weekend.
NOTRE DAME INVITATIONAL
The majority of the teams (25+ individuals and the 4x400s) will compete at the Notre Dame Invitational Saturday. It is set to get underway with the field events at 10 a.m., and the running events beginning at 12 p.m.
The meet includes Cincinnati, DePaul, Illinois State, Louisville, North Carolina, Northern Illinois and Notre Dame. It will be the second scored meet that the Tar Heels will compete in this season with scoring according to the six-team scoring format: 10-8-6-4-2-1 for individual events and relays. Carolina is 3-0 in scored competition after winning the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup over Duke, ECU and NC State on January 13.
