Carolina owns a 3-0 edge in the all-time series with South Carolina State. The last matchup came in December 2016 with the Tar Heels winning 92-42.
LAST TIME OUT
Led by Destinee Walker's 21 points, four players scored in double figures to send North Carolina to a 90-55 victory over Coppin State on Wednesday afternoon from Carmichael Arena. Walker registered her second-straight game with at least 20 points after putting up 25 last time out against Jacksonville. Stephanie Watts notched her sixth double-double of the season, tying Virginia Tech's Sidney Cook for the most in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The sophomore sharpshooter had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Paris Kea was one rebound shy of her own double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Jamie Cherry offered up 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.
FASTBREAK POINTS
• UNC has won six of its last seven games leading into Friday. The Tar Heels have shot above 50.0 percent in back-to-back games for the first time this season and have done so three times overall.
• Carolina ranks 3rd in the ACC by averaging 8.3 three-point field goals per game.
• Stephanie Watts ranks 3rd in the ACC in scoring (19.6) and 3rd in rebounding (9.1).
• Watts set an ACC record with 10 made three-pointers against Charleston Southern on Nov. 22. She also scored a career-high 39 points, tied for the fifth most points in program history.
• Destinee Walker is averaging 23.0 ppg over the last two games. She scored a season-high 25 points in a victory over Jacksonville on Dec. 20 and had 21 against Coppin State on Wednesday.
• Paris Kea and Stephanie Watts are the third highest scoring backcourt in the ACC behind only tandems from Syracuse and Duke.
