UNC Travels To Myrtle Beach To Face LSU, JAX

UNC, winners of its last seven games in Myrtle Beach going back to 2011, has played annually on the Grand Strand since 1994-95.

SERIES HISTORY
LSU leads 2-0 over North Carolina. The last matchup took place in the NCAA Tournament Regional Finals in New Orleans back in 2008. The Tigers, in their home state of Louisiana, won 56-50 to thwart the Tar Heels of getting to the Final Four for the third-straight season.
Tuesday's game with Jacksonville is the first meeting between the two programs.
LAST TIME OUT
Jamie Cherry had a game-high 19 points to lead North Carolina to a 75-53 win over visiting Marshall Wednesday night at Carmichael Arena. Carolina trailed by four after one quarter but outscored the Thundering Herd 25-7 in the second 10-minute period to take control. Destinee Walker added 15 points and Hillary Fuller had 11 for the Tar Heels, who improved to 8-1 ahead of an 11-day break for final exams.
CAROLINA FAST-BREAK POINTS
• Carolina ranks 3rd in the ACC by averaging 8.8 three-point field goals per game.
• Stephanie Watts ranks 3rd in the ACC in scoring (20.0) and 2nd in rebounding (9.2).
• Watts set an ACC record with 10 made three-pointers against Charleston Southern on Nov. 22. She also scored a career-high 39 points, tied for the fifth most points in program history.
• Jamie Cherry scored a season-high 19 points last time out in a victory over Marshall on Dec. 7.
• Carolina returns from the holiday break with home games against Coppin State (Dec. 28) and South Carolina State (Dec. 30) to close out 2016.
• Paris Kea is 2nd in the ACC with 3.7 (33-to-9) assist-to-turnover ratio. She also ranks ninth in the league in scoring at 16.8 ppg.
