
Carolina Shuts Out Campbell, 3-0

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Carolina shutout Campbell 3-0 Wednesday evening, improving to 23-12, 4-2 on the season with the win.
The Tar Heels only needed one inning to claim the victory, scoring all three runs in the first frame. Erin Satterfield drew a walk, advancing to second on a single to left by Haleigh Dickey before coming home on a double to left by Amber Parrish. Constance Orr then singled up the middle to score both Dickey and Parrish, giving Carolina the 3-0 lead that the Tar Heels kept for the remainder of the game.
The Fighting Camels had four hits but were not able to capitalize on the eight runners on base.
Lori Spingola tossed all seven innings in the circle for the win, striking out five and giving up our hits with just one walk.

Carolina returns to Chapel Hill for another conference series this weekend with Virginia Tech. Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera will throw out the first pitch as UNC faces the Hokies at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The series continues with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30, at 1 and 3 p.m.
