CARY, N.C.--The North Carolina men's tennis team finished up its opening tournament of the 2011-12 season on Sunday at the Duke Fab Four Invitational in Cary, N.C.
Following is a summary of Sunday's Tar Heel results in the tournament:
Men's Singles BLUE Bracket
Fifth Place Match -- Nick Jones (NC State) d. Joey Burkhardt (UNC), 1-6, 7-6 (5), 11-9
Men's Singles BLACK Bracket
Consolation Final -- Ben Hoogland (William & Mary) d. Cameron Ahari (UNC), 6-2, 6-2
Consolation Third Place Match -- Oystein Steiro (UNC) d. Sebastian Stiefelmeyer (Louisville), 6-4, 7-5
Men's Singles WHITE Bracket
Third Place Match -- Austin Powell (NC State) d. William Parker (UNC), 6-0, 6-3
