No. 19 Tar Heels Fall Against No. 28 Auburn 7-0

AUBURN, Ala.- North Carolina was unable to overcome an early doubles flurry by Auburn Saturday, as the No. 28 Tigers downed the No. 19 Tar Heels 7-0 at Auburn's Yarbrough Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels lost the doubles point for the first time this year as head coach Sam Paul continues to juggle the pairings and seeds. The Tigers clinched the point after taking both the No. 2 and No. 3 matches by a score of 8-6.
The No. 2 pairing of Stefan Hardy and Zach Hunter lost for the first time this season to the Auburn pairing of Alex Stamchev and Andreas Mies. Brennan Boyajian, back in the lineup after missing Tuesday's match with Navy, teamed with Jose Hernandez at No. 1 but the two were unable to maintain their form from the ITA Kickoff.
The afternoon didn't get any better for the Tar Heels on the singles side. Kyle Baker went out quickly, 6-1, 6-2, to Mies at No. 6. That was followed by an upset at No. 1, where No. 30 Hernandez lost 6-4, 6-3, to Auburn's Tim Puetz. Auburn clinched the match when William Parker lost at No. 5 to Auburn's Daniel Cochrane.
