Harrison Barnes had his first double-double of the year (fourth career) with a season-high 26 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.

Barnes scored 20 or more points for the fourth time this year and the 12th time as a Tar Heel. He matched his season high with seven made free throws.

Kendall Marshall's nine assists give him 361 in his first 50 games, more than any other Tar Heel in history through 50 games. The previous high for a player's first 50 games was 359 by Raymond Felton.

Reggie Bullock had 12 points and six rebounds. It was his fifth consecutive game in double figures, the longest current streak by any Tar Heel. Bullock also has 22 rebounds in the last three games.

The win was Carolina's first against Texas with Roy Williams as head coach. Texas had won the first three meetings against Williams-led UNC teams (2003-04, 2009-10, 2010-11). The Longhorns were the only team that UNC had not beaten in Williams' tenure whom the Tar Heels had played on more than one occasion.

Tyler Zeller had 11 rebounds, his third consecutive game with 10 or more rebounds (32 in the three games). Prior to this three-game stretch, he had not grabbed double-figure boards in any two consecutive games in hiscollegiate career.

The Tar Heels have 53 offensive rebounds in the last two games (31 vs. Nicholls and 22 vs. Texas).

Carolina did not have a second player reach double-digit scoring until John Henson scored with 8:15 to play in the second half. At that point, UNC held a 17-point lead (63-46).

In the last three games (Appalachian State, Nicholls and Texas), the Tar Heels have made a combined nine three-pointers and 67 free throws.

Tonight's game was the 300th for Roy Williams as head coach of the Tar Heels. UNC is 236-64 under Williams. Carolina has won78.7 percent of those 300 games. Overall, Williams has a record of 654-165, a percentage of .799.

Carolina won its 24th game in a row in the Smith Center, one of the all-time record of 25.
