#22 Tar Heels Defeat Charlotte 49ers

CHAPEL HILL - The #22 North Carolina men's tennis team won the first leg of their doubleheader Thursday 6-0 over the Charlotte 49ers .
The Tar Heels were able to rebound from their first loss of the season earlier this week, outmatching the 49ers at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
North Carolina was able to capture the doubles point after three tight matches. The No. 1 doubles team of Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy remained undefeated, improving to 5-0 with an 8-4 victory. The No. 2 and 3 pairings soon added victories, both prevailing 8-6.
The Tar Heels made quick work of the 49ers in singles, Donato again leading the way with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 flight. Freshman Jose Hernandez stayed hot at No. 2, winning 6-3, 6-2.
Brennan Boyajian, Stefan Hardy and Cameron Ahari also notched singles victories for the Heels. With the win sealed, the No. 5 singles match between Andrew Crone and Jesse Hutchinson ended with Crone up a set, 6-4, 2-1.
The Tar Heels with look to finish off the doubleheader against Richmond tonight at 7 p.m.
